Commissioned Crochet Dress
I’m excited to report that a piece of my work will be on display at Closs & Hamblin in Tunbridge Wells very soon! I handed over the commissioned crochet dress, sized for a 1-year-old, on Saturday, and it should be available to view in the next few days. It’s not easy getting work from C&H, as they have a team of knitters and crocheters who have been working with them for many years – maybe even decades. So it’s a real honour to be asked to join the team and create a display piece for them.
I wasn’t able to get a really good photo of the dress before handing it in, so you’ll have to put up with an iPhone pic, but it gives a good idea of the design.

I’m rather pleased with the result. I had to learn a new stitch, and a new way of doing shell stitch – and adapt the pattern for the sleeves so that they would actually fit into the sleeve opening! C&H gave me the pattern and the yarn, and they’re paying me in vouchers for the store – so win-win, given how much I spend in there from time to time … 🙂
